The WWW Wednesday meme is currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words and is a great way to do a weekly update on what you’ve been reading and what you have planned.
To take part all you have to do is answer the following three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Here’s this weeks WWW.
Currently Reading
Still reading The Trespasser by Tana French and am around 80% through so nearing the end. It’s the sixth book in the Dublin Murder Squad series and this story is focused on Detective Antionette Conway and her investigation into the murder of Aislinn Murray.
I’ve always been a big fan of Tana French but I’m especially enjoying this one. The main character Antionette is absolutely fantastic and it’s turning into a really twisty and intense read. It’s very character driven rather than being full of action and excitement, so possibly not for everyone, but I’d definitely recommend.
Recently Finished
Umm… I think this may actually be a first but I haven’t finished any books this week. I did watch the recent (ish) film adaptation of Black Beauty if I can count that π I don’t even have the excuse of being really busy as I wasn’t feeling great over the weekend so was pretty much just lying around the house doing nothing.
Reading Next
Unsurprisingly I haven’t started real life book club bookΒ The Redbreast by Jo Nesbo yet so it should really be next on my list. However, the two books I’d ordered from the library, The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer (Twilight) and Lyrebird by Cecelia Ahern, have arrived so it’s likely I’ll read them first as others are waiting on them.
Have you read any of the books above or have any other book you’d recommend? Leave comments and links below.
Happy Wednesday everyone.
I am a big fan of Tana French and really enjoyed The Trespasser too. Hope you’re feeling better now!

Thanks. I’m mostly just in need of a holiday I think π Tana French is brilliant. I did find books 3 and 4 a little hard going but this one is back up there with the first two in the series.

I’m on a bit of an audio book crime/thriller kick at the moment so I might see if my library has any Tara French. I hadn’t heard of Lyrebird before but I like the sound of it.

I don’t think I’ve ever actually listened to a crime/thriller audio book other than The Girl on the Train which I did not enjoy.
I’ve found it very odd re Lyrebird and The Chemist that there doesn’t seem to have been a lot of promo around them. I actually spotted them on Amazon.

My libraries website usually has lists of books coming in over the next couple of months so I tend to have a look and reserve before it comes in. Not many seem to do that so I’m often first on the list which is brilliant. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the chemist so looking forward to it

I hope that you are feeling much better now. I have seen The Trespasser around but I wasn’t sure that I would like it because it sounded more of a police procedural than a thriller. It does sound good though and I am glad that you are enjoying it. Enjoy your books this week. Happy reading:-)

It probably is more police procedural than thriller but still a brilliant read (although I do like police procedurals anyway). It’s very character driven and the MC Antionette is brilliant. She’s very cynical and angry which does make for some funny lines and despite it being a straight forward who dunnit it’s very twisty.

I really need to get on Tana French. I keep seeing her books on Instagram too and I have it noted, but maybe sooner rather than later would be for the best π
I love the cover of the Lyrebird. I haven’t read Ahern’s other works, but this sounds like a beautiful story that might be too good to pass on.
Happy Reading!

I’m a big fan of Ahern. Sometimes takes a little while to get into them but usually end up loving them. They always seem a little different from the norm. Would definitely recommend Tana French.

I’ve read some negative feedback on The Chemist but I still want to read and check it for myself. And I’ve been wanting to read Lyrebird by Cecelia Ahern for a while now but I still don’t have a copy!! Glad yours already arrived. π

The Chemist does seem to be a book people either love or hate. Hoping I enjoy.
I love my local library. Hardly anyone seems to use it and they get big releases in fairly quickly.
