The WWW Wednesday meme is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words and is a great way to do a weekly update on what you’ve been reading and what you have planned.
To take part all you have to do is answer the following three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading
I’m sticking with lighter reads at the moment as work is still pretty busy so I’m currently reading One in a Million by Lindsay Kelk. I’m taking part in a couple of reading challenges at the moment, Popsugar and a team challenge on Goodreads, so this quite conveniently works for both. It’s a My Fair Lady retelling with main character Annie Higgins taking on the challenge of making a stranger Instagram famous in 30 days. It’s pretty early days for me but so far so good.
On audio I’ve decided to pick up Before the Devil Breaks You by Libba Bray again. I put it on pause last week so I could listen to an audio from the library that was due back. This is the third book in the Diviners series and I’m very much enjoying it. So much so I have book 4 sitting waiting on me.
Recently Finished
Three books finished again this week, the first of which Deep Down Dead by Steph Broadribb was a bit of a surprise. Not sure what I was expecting, it’s about a bounty hunter tasked with bringing in an ex, but I really enjoyed it. It’s been a while since I’ve read a book like this and I have been seriously tempted to just go on a binge read of the rest of the series.
I also finished the audiobook of Come Tumbling Down by Seanan McGuire and liked it a lot. It’s still not my favourite in the Wayward Children series but I do love the characters and can’t wait to see what’s next for them.
Final book finished this week was To Have and to Hoax by Martha Waters, which I received an advance copy of from NetGalley. I was in a historical romance kind of mood and this fit the bill perfectly. It’s a little bit silly and kind of ridiculous at times but a whole lot of fun and I read the whole thing cover to cover on Saturday morning.
Reading Next
It’s not that long till the Orenda Roadshow (it’s on the 24th February) so I’d really like to read a few books by the authors appearing before then. I have loads sitting on my TBR but I’m thinking I’ll probably go for some or all of the following
Have you read any of the books on my list this week? Any others you’d recommend? As always please feel free to leave comments and links below.
Happy Reading ❤
I wouldn’t have guessed To Have and to Hoax was a historical from that cover! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

It really doesn’t scream historical, does it, but it was a lot of fun. I do love a historical romance though.

I didn’t love Come Tumbling Down myself… having an anxiety disorder (including body-based OCD like Jack’s) made it rather harrowing. I can’t wait for there to be a book about Kade, though!

I so want a book about Kade, he’s my absolute favourite character in the series. Jack really isn’t an easy character to read, I don’t have her issues but still find it uncomfortable. I suppose it’s a sign of good writing but can imagine how difficult it would be for you to read.

Im also doing the popsugar reading challenge. Is One in A Million for the prompt about social media?

Yes, or at least that was my original plan. I’m also thinking it could work for city that hosted the Olympics as it’s set in London although I’m sure finding another book for that task should be easier.

Oh that can work too. I also used London for the city for olympics but I think I will read “Again, But Better” for that. What about a book set in letter C? Do you have a book in mind, I’m finding it hard to find one, Also for the prompt “pun in the title”
I’m sorry, I’m suddenly asking for recommendations. 🙂

I was probably going to use Canada for set in C, I’m positive I must have a book set there. I’m pretty sure Kelley Armstrongs City of the Lost is set there and I think there are a few hockey romances, Us for example, that should work.
For the pun I have either ‘An Éclair to Remember’ or ‘And Then There Were Nun’. There quite a few cosy culinary murder mysteries with pun titles but I’m really not a fan of them so will only resort to that if I’m really desperate.
Ask away although I’m really not sure what I’m doing. Are you on the Facebook group? I’ve found it better than the GR group for recommendations and chat.

No, I’m not in the fb group. I have an FB account but I don’t use. I’m planning to make a new one though and start being active there. Thanks for the recommendation. Just one more question. 🙂 Is “Red, White and Royal Blue” can be used for pun. I do think Royal blue or blue blooded kinda means something else like pain in the backside, like being royal or something like that, and considering the story is in hate-to-love trope, what do you think?

I’ve just spotted someone else who’s using Red White and Royal Blue for that prompt so I guess it does work. It didn’t immediately spring to my mind as being a pun but there’s definitely a play on words with the royal as it could be either the shade of blue or that one of the characters is royalty
