The WWW Wednesday meme is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words and is a great way to do a weekly update on what you’ve been reading and what you have planned.
To take part all you have to do is answer the following three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading
I’ve been working long hours over the last week and as I sit at a computer all day I’m finding my eyes are really struggling. I’ve therefore decided to try and take a bit of a break from reading to give them a rest. We’ll see how long that lasts… I’m writing this on Sunday so chances are I’ll already have caved and picked something up by Wednesday 😉
On audio I’m listening to Before the Devil Breaks You by Libba Bray, the third book in the Diviners series. I went for a long walk on Saturday so that gave me the chance to listen to it for a big long stretch. I think I’m around the halfway point now.
Recently Finished
As I’ve had to take a bit of a break from reading I’ve only managed to finish one book this week, My Sister The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite. I’ve been hearing a lot of good things (and a few not so good things) about this for a while so it was one I couldn’t resist and yep I liked it a lot. The writing style is a little unusual, lots of short choppy chapters and it seems to jump from one scene to the next, but that really worked for me. I liked the main character Korede a lot and found her pretty relatable. Not sure I would help a sibling dispose of a body or cover up a murder but it does make for a unique and engaging story. My only gripe is the ending… I am not happy with that.
Reading Next
I think the next couple of weeks are going to be just as busy for me as the past one has been so not sure if or what I’ll be reading. I did however just get my hands on the following so maybe one of these:-
Have you read any of the books on my list this week? Any others you’d recommend? As always please feel free to leave comments and links below.
Happy Reading ❤
Oh, I like Sarah Morgan every now and then. Has been a while since I’ve last read one though. My question is though, I thought that book is only coming out in April? 🙂

My Sister The Serial Killer has been in my TBR pile for ages and I’m now even more keen to read it, especially in view of your comments about the ending.

It was a much easier read than I was expecting. Whenever any book gets good reviews from critics I assume it’s gonna be tough going but it was really quick and certainly keeps you guessing.

Booo to long hours. Sometimes reading breaks are just necessary, though! Hope you’re feeling better soon. Dark Waters looks really interesting, and I love that tagline. Happy reading!

I know. I’m getting headaches and seeing spots from all the screen time 😭
It probably doesn’t help that I now mostly read on my phone screen. Have dug out my old kindle so hopefully that’ll work.

That’s why I specifically got the plain Kindle that mimics the page. Hubby went for the fancy front light one, but I work on a screen all day and then come home and blog, and reading on a screen was hurting my eyes. The ink Kindle I can read for as long as I want and it doesn’t bother me.
I hope your old Kindle helps!

I think I spied it on twitter and headed straight for Netgalley. I hope I manage to read it soon.
I’d be curious about My Sister as an audio. I’m not sure it’d work but I guess it’d probably come down to the narrator

Definitely different but pretty good. I liked the format but have seen a few complaints about it.

My Sister, the Serial Killer is such a weird little book. For me it was really hard to even pinpoint how I felt about it. I liked how unique it was but on the other side it didn’t really do that much for me. Glad you enjoyed it mostly. The ending was strange. This whole book to come to that? 😂
