The WWW Wednesday meme is currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words and is a great way to do a weekly update on what you’ve been reading and what you have planned.

Currently Reading
I always seem to be starting new books on a Monday and this week is no exception as I finally picked up The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. It’s not a book I immediately thought I’d want to read but I’ve heard so many fantastic things about it from pretty much everyone I had to read it. I’m not that far through but so far so good. The story is intriguing and I am loving the writing which is a good thing as I also have an ARC of Daisy Jones and the Six on my reading soon list.
So I lost my hold on The Diviners by Libba Bray and had to return it with 9 hours remaining so not really listening to anything at the moment. I should probably get back into Clockwork Princess but I’m getting a little grumpy with all of the stopping and starting on audios. I might just take a break for a bit.
Recently Finished
I’m still reading at a reduced pace at the moment so only two books finished this week the first of which was Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan. I was lucky enough to get a copy of this from NetGalley but had been wary to read as I’ve been a little down on YA fantasy and there was a lot of hype around this one (something that always puts me off). I did however dive in and initially I really loved it. There are some wonderful descriptions, great world building and a romance that was different from what I expected. However around the middle I found my attention starting to wander and I felt the ending was a little bit of a let down.
The second book finished this week was The Truth Pixie by Matt Haig. I’m not sure I can necessarily count it as it’s very much a children’s book and I read the whole thing in about 20 mins but I absolutely loved it. I do love Matt Haig’s writing and how he can turn his hand to just about any kind of book but this is one is really special and made me so happy.
Reading Next
My library reservation for Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet, the fourth book in the Charley Davidson series, came in so I can pretty much guarantee I’ll be picking it up next. I am completely addicted to this series, in much the same way I was with the Sookie Stackhouse books. I also want to read The Christmas Sisters by Sarah Morgan, it’s something of a miracle I haven’t read it yet as I usually can’t resist a Morgan Christmas story.

A Bookish Life 
The Seven Husbands is not a book I’d pick up myself right away but like you I heard so many good things about it! I’m happy to hear you like it so far! I’m reading An Anonymous Girl right now which is a more psychological novel and I like it too.

The writings great and I’m quite intrigued by where it’s gonna go. Wouldn’t say I love it yet but we’ll see.
It’s been a while since I read any psychological novel. I’ll be keeping an eye out for your review.

I’m very tempted to just read the book (which I do have). I’m too stop start with audios to get into the story. Although the narrator did a wonderful Evie.

It’s a little uncanny how much The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo sounds like The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. They look like they’re nothing alike, but I can’t help but think of one when I hear the other now. Happy reading!

I know. I did wonder if they’d made it the 7 1/2 deaths in the US for that very reason.
They’re not very alike at all. One is a murder mystery with a twist and the other the story of someone’s life and relationships. Both are brilliant but I suspect 7 Deaths would be more your type of read.

Seeing as I bought 7 Deaths last month I’d say your intuition is spot on 🙂
And now that you mention it I recall seeing it 7 1/2 Deaths on Goodreads and the author assuring that the American version didn’t actually have any more number of deaths.

Yay. You won’t regret it. It’s Agatha Christie meets Quantum Leap. I did it as a group read with people from all over and yep I can confirm all versions have the same number of deaths.

So far I kind of admire her. She knows what she wants and goes for it. I do get the feeling though the big secret is gonna change my view.

I love Matt Haig’s Christmas books so think I might have to pick up The Truth Pixie too, it does sound gorgeous. 🙂 I really want to read Daisy Jones and the Six, it sounds so good! I hope you enjoy it.

Ugh, I don’t mind DNFing a book but I do hate when I have to return an audiobook unfinished because it is so darn hard to get going on one again! Sorry about that experience. It’s my own fault for not taking the time to listen to them but it is getting frustrating. I may just read them instead as I have both on my kindle.
Seven Husband’s has been great. I was up way too late reading it last night. It’s a just one more chapter type book.
